Reviewing Breakout Session Results

On Monday afternoon, participants in the Mayo Clinic National Symposium on Health Care Reform gathered in groups by sector: Users of Care, Payers for Care and Providers of Care. Each group met for about three hours to identify potential action items for the private sector that would do the most to help realize the vision of a high-performance health care system. Then the participants in each breakout voted on the list that had been developed, to choose the top five priorities for each sector.

The symposium opened its Tuesday morning session with a review of the priority lists. Here is the PowerPoint presentation that highlights the findings:

This morning the symposium will again break into three groups, this time not by sector but across sectors, to identify priorities for government action. As these are synthesized, the symposium will conclude with an opportunity for participants to select the highest priorities from both the private and public sector lists.
